The Volcanoes put one in the win column today !

The Red Wings did make it easy though with fine pitching for both teams.

Jordan Hearing & Jacob Kopp took the mound for the Volcanoes each pitching 2 strong innings.

Jackson Nina's base hit in the first inning brought in 2 runs his hit drove in the fifth and final run of the inning.

Jacob Kopp's double in the 2nd inning lead to 3 more runs, while Rayna Walker & Brendan McEvoy had solid hits.

Strong catching from behind the plate from both Nadia Goolsby & Kyle Boyer.

It was a great team effort with Rassul Abdur-Rahim, Dana Charles, Jimmy Cwiek,

Amina Abdur-Rahim & Frank Buck Jr. all contributing to a well played and great game.

Bats 19 - Lookouts 3

5/13

Before I give you the highlights for this well played game, I would like to share an observance with all of you.

Up at Beacon tonight was a Harper Woods Little League Dream come true for a few of us.

Long timers Charlie Dherckers, Joe Szolach and myself were up there and saw a great thing.

3 ex-players who were given a lot over the years  are giving back.

Manager Ross Rottier, Stephen Fradeneck & Jacob Bertges are coaching the Lookouts together.

Three former players for good old HWLL.

This shows you that this community is always reaching out and these 3 were touched and are giving back.

Thanks Guys, it brings me special joy since I coached all 3 at one time on some great Championship Tourney teams along with

my co-umpire tonight Jeff Bertges. These Gentlemen along with others like Anthony Colista, Tim Perna are a true

representation of a great community. Now onto the Highlights.

The Bats beat the Lookouts tonight behind the pitching of Dorian Royster, Jevaughn Huffman and Garrett Clark.

Good defensive plays by the Bats' Steven Spicuzza at 2nd base and Paul Colombo at catcher, as well as the Lookouts' Shane Pierce

at shortstop highlighted the action. A three-hit game for Dorian Royster, including two extra-base hits,

sparked the Bats offense.     Big hitters for the Lookouts were Pierce, with a triple to straight away center, Shane Gallahar,

Patrick Dunstone, Caleb Danford and Jalen Lillard.

Red Wings 10 - Bulls 2

5/17

Do not let the score fool you this was a close game until the final inning where the Red Wings erupted.

This writer say some awesome defense on both sides, including an ESPN Highlight play by Mike Ciaravino at short.

Some great pitching on both sides by the likes of Arleayshia Currie, Mike Ciaravino, Jake Lloyd from the Bulls.

While The Red Wings were led by the outstanding pitching of Kellen Chervin.

Other players that contributed to this game were Emily Jaminet, Rose Cyburt, Ken Marsilio, Sarah Cherry,

Caleb Kreuger and Camille Gillette. The umpire of this game and writer of this highlight say a whole lot of future major league

talent displayed on both sides, which in turn means some good coaching. God Job both teams !!!

Storm over Bats

5/17

The STORM pulled off another well needed win today defeating the undefeated Bats.

Both teams put forth a great team effort in this six inning game. The STORM put forth a good team effort playing a great

defensive game lead by pitchers: Cody Weidner(85-P/12-SO) and Tony Cichocki(40-P/3-SO), and a needed fly out from

Kyle Cichocki. The Bats held the STORM scoreless in the first two innings playing good solid defense led by pitchers:

 Ryan Taylor(38-P/4-SO), Tyson Quarker(36-P/2-SO), Jordan Jackson(33-P/1-SO) and Dorian Royster(32-P/6-SO).

The STORM came alive in the 3rd with 3-Hits from Kyle Cichocki, Tony Cichocki and Liam Conlan plus 4-Runs leading the Bats 4 to 2.

The STORM didn't stop there getting another good hit and run from Jie Hemphill, but the Bats answered back scoring a run

in the 5th and 6th before ending the game with a 6 to 4 STORM victory.

THANKS to Tyson Quarker for apologizing for hitting a player while pitching.

Great game to both teams, keep up the good work!!
