NL  Playoffs

Cardinals 7 - Cubs 0

6/14

Jerome"J.J." Jackson, making his first start in two weeks, threw forty pitches for the top seed,

St. Louis Cardinals, but that was all he needed to go 2 2/3 innings and strike-out 8 of 9 Cub

batters."J.J." turned the ball over to Connor"Beaver" Perreault who worked out of a bases

loaded jam with two out in the third and started a beautiful game ending double play in the

fourth with "J.J.", now at first base, gunning down the lead runner trying to advance to third on the play.

The National League is going to see the pitchers that the Cards have been hiding from them all season.

We'll have to wait and see how this strategy works for the regular season champs.

By the time "J.J." left the game the damage was done and the Red-Birds had staked him to a 7-0 lead.

Hot hitters for the Cards were through-out the order, most noteable was Rob"Z-Rob"Zurawski who went( 3-3,2runs,2rbi's).

Eric Cichocki (2-3,2b,4rbi's)had a great day at the plate and a solid one behind it.Nick Ellery added a(2-4,2run) performance

to the mix. Next game is Tuesday against the always tough Pirates. GO CARDS !!!!!!!

Pirates 13 - Giants  2

6/14

The Pirates all had fine at bats today with hits or just moving runners up on the bases.  Brian Echols pitched fine going the 85 pitch max.

Sean Goolsby got the last 2 hitters using two pitches.  Casey Livingston led the hit attack going 4 for 4 with 2 singles and

2 doubles. Nehemiah Meyers was on base 3 times today.

Pirates 7 - Cardinals 2

6/17

The Pirates started off strong as Brian Echols led off the game with a long home run.

Brian also had a double and a triple scoring 3 runs.  Nehemiah Meyers continued his great play, going 3 for 4.

Sean Goolsby pitched very nice maxing out at 85 pitches and only allowing 2 runs.

Brian Jaminet finished the fifth and Cam Keuning pitched a scoreless 6th to complete the game.

Fine contributions from Tom Meyering going 2 for 3 and Brian Jaminet going 2 for 3.

Giants 8 - Cubs 0

6/19

Giants 7 - Cardinals 5

With their never quit spirit the Giants overcame a 5-0 deficit to defeat the National League Champions by a score of 8-5!!!

The Giants defense and offense supported their pitching tandem of Derrick Vaughn and Tom Witcher for all 6 tough fought innings

as Derrick helped the cause with a rocket 3 run bomb. With great at bats throughout the lineup, the Giants wore down the Cardinals.

Ian Marshall with 2 key singles and 3 6th inning putouts by 2nd baseman Nicole Haggerty put the final squeeze on the Cardinals.

Defensive gems by Taylor Genzman and Connor Marshall  made for a great effort by the never quit Giants!!  Great job by both squads!!!

Pirates 18 - Giants 8

Another classic Pirate/Giant playoff game.  Back and forth until the Pirates were able to pull away at the very end.

Fine pitching by Connor Marshall and Brian Echols drove this game.  Nice plays and timely hitting on both sides.

For the Pirates, the bats were alive.  Sean Goolsby hit rockets tonight, but twice was robbed by the awesome play of Ian Marshall in CF.

Brian Echols, Casey Livingston, Brian Jaminet, Nehemiah Meyers, Bobby Root, Sean Goolsby, Tristan Richardson,

Tom Meyering, Donovan Travis, Jacob Rees and Cameron Keuning all are playing nice baseball right now.

The Pirate coaches are very proud.
