Beavers 9 - Sounds 1 4/26 With Matt Orsi, Sean Bly & Zach Cherry each hitting a double, the Beavers were able to move ahead of the Sounds 9-1. The rest of the Beavers played outstanding both offensively and defensively. WAY TO GO BEAVERS!!!!!
Tough one today. When is that manager getting
back from his vacation to Florida. It must be nice!
But not as nice as the 2 hits Malik Minor had today or the 3 singles that Ryan Webb blistered.
Excellent catching today by Hassan, Alse, Colin
and Mary. Way to go!
The Sounds will be playing a better tune next
game, so watch out!

Canadians 5 - Bees 2 4/26 Opening Day proved that all of the practice paid off for the Canadians. The Bees leadoff hitter Nathan started the game with a sharp single, but the next batter hit a short infield fly that forced Kaeleb Donaldson to make a highlight-reel diving catch, and then Kaeleb threw to first for the double play. Wow! In the second inning, the Bees loaded the bases with hits from Jacob, Savannah, and Devone, but the Canadians' defense showed up again when Mikale hit a pop up that SS Chris Walters made a great play on, and Chris then threw to second for the double play! Two double plays in two innings! The Bees scoring came in the fourth with two outs, when Cole, Jacob, and Savannah all singled to load the bases. Miles then singled in the first Bees run of the year, and Devone followed with another singe to take the 2-0 lead. The Canadians found their bats in the bottom of the fourth. AJ Saffore lead off the inning by singling in his first PC at-bat. Michaela Kirck followed with her second hit of the day, and Owen Rossman singled to load the bases. Jared Rees then hit a rocket over the left fielder's head for a two-run double. The Canadians hitting continued with Chris Walters singling in a run. Olivia Randazzo did the same, and after a single by Luke Smith loaded the bases again, Kaeleb Donaldson showed his bat by knocking in the fifth run of the inning. Jordan Buck also got his first hit of the season, and played great defense. A fine game by both teams - hats off to the coaches for getting these kids ready for the season, the practice showed on the field today! It was a fun filled, busy & breezy Opening Day as the Bees took on the Canadians at SR#2. Our Bees got to bat first & Nathan Gunter started things off with a single for the first hit of the 2008 season. The Bees loaded the bases in the 2nd inning but hit into the first of 2 infield fly balls that resulted in 2 double plays for the quick thinking Canadians. The game remained scoreless until the 4th inning when the Bees scored 2 runs on 5 straight singles by Cole Green, Jacob Foulkrod, Savannah Sams, Miles Green, & Devone Williams. The Canadians had a nice 5 run rally in the bottom of the 4th to take the lead for good. The first game ball of the season went to Jonathan (Jack) Stalcup for good outfield play, single in the 3rd & nice at bat in the 5th. Great job Jonathan!
Also, special thanks to Mr. Joe Szolach for providing our post game
treat!

Grizzlies 10 - Canadians 3 4/29 On another blustery day at the corner of Beaconsfield and Woodland, the Grizzlies topped the Canadians 17-3, in a game that was a lot closer than the score would indicate. The Canadians started the game with a single by Michaela and then a one-out double by Jared. Chris Walters followed with a double to center to score the first two runs of the game. The Grizzlies answered back in the bottom of the first with five runs of their own, with five singles in a row from Shane (three hits on the day), Brendan (who went 4-for-4), Matt (who went 3-for-4 with 3 runs scored), Clifford (who had three hits) and Caleb (who also went 3-for-4 with two singles and a two-run double). The Canadians proceeded to load the bases in each of the next three innings, only to come up short each time. Michaela Kirck continued her hot hitting, going 3-for-3 to stay perfect on the season, and Jared Rees earned the Canadians' game ball by hitting a pair of doubles to go with his third inning single. Tarran Allen got his first two hits of the season, and Sam Campion and Aminah Whitfield got their first of many to come. The bottom of the Grizzlies batting order showed that they can hit just as well as the top half, with Kaitlyn, Daniel and Lynlee all getting two hits and scoring twice.
Look out for the Grizzlies this year!

Canadians 6 - Beavers 5 5/01 Great game by these two rivals tonight! Robbie Moen got things started for the Beavers with a sharp single (and went 4-for-4!), Miguel and Emily followed with singles of their own to score the first run of the game. The Canadians answered back with three runs in the second with singles from AJ, Michaela, and Owen. Jared then followed up with a double down the left field line. Chris and Olivia both singled after that, each earning and RBI. The Canadians hot bats continued in the third, with four straight singles from Kaeleb, Tarran (who was 3-for-3 with his first double), ean and Jordan. After two outs, AJ and Michaela singled in two more runs to give the Canadians a 6-1 lead. The Beavers did not concede the game, getting a run back in the fourth when Sean singled, Stephen doubled, and Myles singled to get a run back. Tight defense by the Canadians kept the Beavers in check until the top of the sixth, when Sean, Zack, Keegan, Myles, Will, Robbie and Miguel all got hits to close the gap to 6-5, only to have the Beavers come up short. Great play by both teams, and sharp hitting. Expect good things from both teams this year!

Thunder 10 - Sounds 6 4/30

Rainiers 13 - Thunder 6 5/01 After a big win the night before the Thunder ran into a very solid hitting and fielding Rainier team which knocked in 13 runs to beat the Thunder 13-6. But the Thunder didn’t go lightly as they struck for 23 hits led by John H., Eli S., D.J. H., Zach H. and Cameron P. who all went (3-3) with a combined 6 RBI and 4 runs. Also getting their first hits of the season were Luke N. (2-4 / first hits in PC), Timmy D. (2-4) and Patrick G. (1-3). The bats are definitely alive for the Thunder we just need some fine tuning in the field. Again Great Job Thunder!!!
