the score to 4 - 1.  Anthony Monteleone pitched in his 3rd game, striking out 1,  walking 3, & giving up 1 hit.

Congrats to both teams for a finely played game in some adverse weather conditions

Rainiers 5 - Canadians 0

5/31

Excellent defense was played on a blustery Saturday afternoon, forcing both teams' pitchers to battle the wind.

The Rainiers emerged victorious, winning 5-0.  The Rainiers were retired in the first on three infield plays,

with nice communication from Canadians infielders Jared Rees, Chris Walters, and Owen Rossman.

The Canadians got two-out hits from AJ Saffore and Michaela Kirck, but were shut down as well.

In the second the Rainiers got hits from Aaron Couture and Henry Zalewski and Da'von Kincaid, but were denied any runs.

Jared Rees led off the bottom of the second with a strong double to left center, but was left stranded after three strike outs.

In the top of the third, Chris Walters took to the mound for the fourth time, and continued to dominate.

He walked the first batter, but then struck out the next three.  Da'von matched his performance in the bottom of the third

for the Rainiers, striking out two and walking two.  In the Rainiers' fourth Owen Rossman took to the mound.

Aaron walked, Henry singled, and Tyler Bates walked to load the bases for Da'von, who crushed a double to right center

to score the first two runs of the game.  After the second strike out of the inning, Tori Spencer and Lance Mercer

walked to push the third run across, before Owen got his third strike out of the inning.  Henry pitched a strong fourth

for the Rainiers, striking out three and walking two.  In the fifth, the Rainiers got two insurance runs, with Jacob Smith

and Rachel Malinowski leading the inning off with singles.  After a ground out, Henry singled in the fourth run, and after a

nice catch by first baseman Chris Walters, Bennie Limback singled home the fifth run.

After Da'von got his third hit of the day, Michaela Kirck made a nice catch to shut down the Rainiers' bats.

After that, the Canadians could only muster two more hits, from Kaeleb Donaldson and Aminah Whitfield.

No matter to the Canadians though, as they lost their two games to the Rainiers in the regular season last year,

only to beat them twice in the playoffs, when it really mattered!  We'll see you then, Rainiers

Rainiers vs Bees

6/03

It was a warm & windy night in Harper Woods when the Bees squared off against the Rainiers on Friday June 6th.

The Bees could only manage one hit in the 1st two innings of play as the hive was a little sluggish & the Rainiers defense was solid.

The Bees defense was also up to the challenge as they only allowed 1 run in 5 innings.

Jacob Foulkrod pitched the 3rd inning & retired the first 3 batters in order. The 4th inning proved to be a wake up call as the

Bees started to hit.  Jacob Foulkrod hit a sharp single to start us off followed by walks by MIles Greene & Devone Williams which loaded

the bases.  Mickale McKithen hit into a fielders choice which scored Jacob from 3B.

Jahmeir Shorter continued his good hitting & singled in Miles Greene to give the Bees the lead 2 - 1.

Mickale McKithen pitched the 4th & walked one & struck the next three Rainier hitters.  Nice pitching Jacob & Mickale!

The Bees came to hit in the top of the 6th when Jacob Foulkrod smacked another solid single.  Miles Greene,

Devone Williams & Mickale McKithen all singled to help their team increase the lead to 4 - 1.

The Rainiers did some hitting of their own & tied up the score 4 - 4 & might have scored more if weren't for good defensive play

by Mickale & Jacob at 1B & pitcher.  Nice job guys!  The 7th inning would be an exciting conclusion to this classic PC battle

as the Bees came to bat.  Anthony Monteleone slapped his 2nd single of the day to left field followed by Cole Greene who hit into

a fielders choice but pushed Anthony to 2B.  Jacob Foulkrod was next as he stung the Rainiers with his 4th hit in as many trips &

put runners at the corners.  Miles Greene came through once again as he blasted a single which would prove to be the

game winning RBI!  Nice Job Miles!  The Rainiers came up in the bottom of the 7th with a nice hit to the outfield which was

cleanly fielded by Jonas Harness.  The next play was a ground ball to 1B man Mickale McKithen who cleanly fielded the

ball & stepped on first for the out, & moved the Rainiers runner to 2B.  After a strikeout the last play of the game was made

by Jacob Foulkrod as he hustled to snag a sinking liner halfway between the mound & home plate to seal the victory for the Bees!

Jonas Harness got the gameball for excellent defensive play & smart batting.  Nice job Jonas!

The Bees & Rainiers played hard until the end and split the season series.

Grizzlies 6 - Sounds 1

 6/05

What a great defensive game. The game was exciting right from the top of the first inning, as Foster Dodge made 2 great

catches of pop ups and turned a nice double play off the first catch of the game. The Grizzlies answered right back with Matt Mazzola

throwing out a runner at 2nd base from the outfield. The game continued scoreless through 2 innings as Matt made a great play on a

little dribbler out in front of the plate to end a bases loaded threat by the Sounds.

The Grizzlies scored all there runs off the kids pitching, powering 8 hits in the 2 innings.

Shane & Caleb Jackson along with Matt Mazzola each had 2 hits. The Sounds did have bases loaded and pushed a run across

with one out in the fifth, when Caleb made a nice catch and threw down to Matt at 2nd to complete a game ending double-play.

The Sounds were led by Breyjuan Currie, Foster & Hassan Smith each with 2 hits.

Great Game by Both Teams !!!

Thunder 7 - Beavers 3

6/05

On a great but steamy night at Beacon the Thunder outlasted the Beavers 7-3.

The Thunder were led by some good defense, stellar pitching by Cameron Pope and Mikhaila Kopp and some key hits by Cameron,

Luke Naidow, Zach Hogrebe, John Hogrebe, Eli Stamatakis, Lorenzo Mitchell and Maranda Smolinski.  Also Patrick Grundman got his

first RBI of the season.  The Beavers were led by Matt, Zach and Stephen who all had two hits a piece.

Bees 3 - Canadians 2

6/07

On the first summer like day this year the Bees met the Canadians at Beacon #2 for a classic PC battle in the hot sun.

The Bees were the visiting team & could not muster much offense until the 3rd inning.

Anthony Monteleone pitched the 3rd & walked 3 batters, & then got himself out of a jam by striking out 3 batters & giving up no runs.

Nice job Anthony!  Our boys did well against the Canadiens pitching as Jacob Foulkrod led off with a nice single to right field.

Savannah Sams battled hard & was hit by a pitch followed by a walk by Miles Greene.

The bases were loaded for Mickale Mckithen and singled in Jacob from 3B.  Jahmeir Shorter & Jonas Harness were both

hit by pitches which walked in 2 more runs & brought the score to 3 - 0 and would prove to be all the Bees needed in the end.

The Canadiens came to bat in the 4th facing Bees pitcher Devone Williams.  Devone struck out 1 batter, walked 2 & hit 2 batters.

Jacob Foulkrod came out of the bullpen to help out with the bases loaded.  Jacob hit 1 batter, walked 1, found his control & struck out

the remaining 2 batters to seal the victory for the Bees 3 - 2!   Coach Matt earned the game ball for his season long excellence

in  coaching, scorekeeping & bench boss duties.  Nice job Coach Matt!  Great effort by both teams on a hot & sticky day.

 GO BEES GO!!!

Sounds vs Beavers

6/07

Grizzlies 8 - Rainiers 0

6/07

WOW, what a game. I have never seen two teams battle for a whole game like this.

Both teams played shorthanded,  so no players were able to take a break from the heat and humidity

The Grizzlies led off the top of the first and loaded the bases with 2 out. A fine play just beat the sliding Brendan Genzman

at third to end the inning. In the bottom of the first Daniel Duquet snared a line drive off the bat of Rachel Malinowski to set

the defensive tone for the Grizzlies. Each team only managed one hit over the next three innings.

The Rainiers led off the fifth with two singles. With two on and no out Kaitlyn Snyder made a nice play at the pitcher's mound

and threw to third to retire the Rainiers speedy Davon Kincaid. From there the Grizzlies were able to record the next two outs

and keep the game scoreless heading into the sixth. The Grizzlies had three hits in the top off the sixth ,

but a great play by Davon at first kept the Grizzlies off the score board.  The bottom of the sixth ended with Brendan fielding

a smash off the bat of Henry Zalewski and stepping on first to keep the score at 0-0 through six innings.

The seventh inning looked like it was going to be a continuation of the first six, as the Grizzlies  Stephen Sperry hit a liner back

up the middle that was coolly caught by Henry to record the first out. The Grizzlies then got hits form the next nine batters to

take a 6-0 lead. Daniel Duquet closed out the scoring with a smash just inside the first base bag to plate the last 2 runs of the inning.

In the Rainier's  half off the inning, Tyler Bates ripped a line drive to Shane Jackson for the first out. Davon smacked a hard single

with 2 down but the Grizzlies were able to get the last out a finish off an exciting game.

Shane Jackson had 3 hits, Brendan, Matt Mazzola, Stephen, Kaitlyn and Daniel each had 2 hits for the Grizzlies.

Davon had 2 hits, Benjamin Limback, Toriano Spencer, and Henry each contributed a hit for the Rainiers
